This is a challenging season right now but God will bring us through it!

I am looking forward to getting back to travelling. The photo above was taken on our holiday to salou.

We have visited here for the last 3 years (before lockdown hit) at around Easter time. We usually take one of our 2 young people’s friends with us. We also have a Nephew who lives in Barcelona who we meet up with.

We love visiting the beaches in Salou. We don’t usually hire a car. We walk everywhere, apart from the one day when we get a coach to Tarragona to visit the shops and the beach or occasionally when we hire bikes.

One of the main things we love about visiting here is visiting Port Aventura and Ferrari World.

These theme parks are awesome for all ages and there is something for everyone. From the extreme thrill seekers  to those that prefer the smaller rides.

All ages are well catered for. The theming at both parks is awesome.

Joel and I’s favourite ride at Portaventura is Stampeda and my daughter and my husband love Shambala.

Our favourites at Ferrari world are Flying Dreams, Red Force and the drop towers.

If you want to see a vlog of our holiday. Check out the link below 🙂

We usually book  full board accomodation, staying at The Belvedere Hotel. The food here is really good with something for everyone including my son who is vegetarian. The staff there have always been really friendly.

One of the other things we really enjoy is watching the fountain show:

But most importantly we love spending time together as a family and with friends. Laughing together and Just enjoying life!

I love it that we have a God who enjoys spending time with us and walking with us, as we live out the lives he had planned for us.

He wants us have times of Joy and fun in life, aswell as being with us in hard times.

So why am I saying this?

Well currently we are in a season where everything we know has been thrown up in the air.

But I find it helps us to think of  memories of good times we’ve had and to look forward to future good times, we will have again!

It is great to know that God is with us in the hard times and the good . To reflect on the fact that God was with us in the past, He is with us today and He will be with us tomorrow.

He brings beauty out of ashes and good things out of difficult times.

There is always hope in Him. He doesn’t change. He is faithful always.

Don’t give up. He knew that this Pandemic was going to happen and he still told you he had plans for you and those plans will come to pass in His time and His way.

If God gave you visions or dreams or words about plans he has  for you and your future and you currently feel they have been put on hold;

I encourage you to keep believing because he will finish what he has begun in your life.

I had a vision for running a bus project 20 years before it came to be but it happened. Don’t give up!

(Seek confirmation in that it lines up with scripture and from other sources and ask other leaders you trust to pray and confirm the word/ vision and then trust Him).

Keep focused on the future and  believing for the next season.

There are some times in life, when we wish that time would stand still and that a moment would last forever but it inevitably doesn’t and  we carry on with life. Time keeps moving forward.

There is a season for everything under heaven. This current season is just that: another season.

However there is purpose in this season, like there is purpose in holidays and other seasons in life.

The purpose in holidays is to give us rest, to maybe enjoy family time together or time with friends.

It’s a chance to recharge and do things we enjoy and have a break before returning to the busyness of life.

The current season:

I think part of the purpose of this season is to slow down and focus on what’s really important. To fix our eyes back on God and to rely on Him and trust him and seek him. Its to appreciate the life God has given us and be grateful.

It reminds us that we never know what we are going to face when we wake up each day.

We have to trust God!

I believe a new season is coming!

How do you guys like to spend your time outside of lockdown?

What are you most looking forward too when we get out of lockdown?

Let’s encourage eachother to share stories of good things and good times where we have known God with us and let’s share the good and the bad times in life together.

We are the church we are one family. Let’s love eachother and build eachother up.

Death and Heaven

I have found writing this post quite challenging but I hope it encourages and blesses you and that you find it helpful. 🙂

(I would like to put a trigger warning with this for death and suicide because some of the themes I am talking about here, may be triggers for some people. )

(Please seek support if you need it!!)

This morning’s walk was at the helm in Kendal.

It was beginning to snow as we walked along and it was quite cold. Therefore we didn’t walk far but the sun was shining and the view was very pretty.

Today as I looked across the hills, I was drawn to think about heaven and about how one day we will be there.

We will no longer be walking on this earth but we will be walking in heaven!

Sometimes the thought of being in heaven seems so different from the things we see on earth…

No more tears or pain or suffering, streets of gold etc and seeing God face to face.

It can seem hard for our human minds to comprehend at times.

The thought of death and eternal life conjour up lots of thoughts for me.

Alongside alot of happy and some very sad memories. As I am sure it does for many of you?

( I always say to people to weigh up what I say and test it to make sure it lines up with scripture and test if you believe it’s from God as the bible says to do that 🙂 )

When I was a young child, my grandfather who was a church pastor was dying in hospital and we were miles away from him at home. I was in my room and just about to settle to sleep. I had my eyes closed and I saw what I can only describe as a child’s picture of heaven. I saw a big mansion and then I saw a vision of my Grandfather drinking from the spring of the water of life and there were angels and valleys and lots of light.

I heard the words don’t worry your grandfather is here now . He’s safe and he is drinking from the fountain of the spring of the water of life. Now go and tell your parents.

I went and spoke to my parents about it and it gave them and me real comfort at the time.

Another memory I have was of my other grandpa. He was also a christian and a very lovely man. He dedicated his life to his faith and to his family. At the end of his life he said that he had lived his life and He was ready to go and be with God.

When he died I had the verse in my head :

I watched my grandpa live his life doing good things, not so everyone could see it but in a more subtle and descrete way and to bring God glory.

Another good memory I have although very sad. Is when a good friend of ours died. He died young of a rare condition.

We went to his funeral and there was just story after story of how he went the extra mile to encourage others and embrace them no matter what .

He always had a good word to say to people and was the most encouraging person I have ever met despite his illness. His funeral was all about celebrating his life and picturing him dancing in heaven with his saviour.

Another time that was really sad was that we had come alongside a great young lad with mental health issues and he was starting to do an alpha course but unfortunately he couldnt take life any more and he commited suicide. His funeral was very somber and humanistic and there was no mention of the afterlife or any hope. I found this very hard.

There are so many emotions thrown up when thinking about death and eternity but I think it is important to remember the joy that awaits those who are saved, in heaven.

And we never know whether someone has turned to Christ on their deathbed, whether they had faith prior to that or not.

There are countless stories of God revealing himself to people in those last moments.

The guarantee to get into heaven is to :

My belief is that : Heaven is real, Hell is also real but God is love and God knows the heart of every person. We should not try and play God when talking about people’s future eternity!!!

Let’s love people and pray for those we know and love to know God’s goodness both now and in eternity.

Have a good blessed day and remember God is with you and he loves you.

And we have an amazing Eternity to look forward to.

Let’s live our lives for the glory of God and to receive the crown of eternal life.

Let it be said of us….

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.”

2 peter 3.

Let’s spur eachother on to live lives that glorify God so that we can run the race before us with our gaze fixed on God and the beauty of our heavenly home with him.

It is never to late in your life on earth to choose to give your life to God.

What an amazing day that will be! When we see our saviour face to face in heaven!

If anyone has any questions about this . Please feel free to contact me.

I would be happy to chat with you. God bless 🙂

Some Verses About Heaven:

A few verses about heaven to encourage you:

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 3:20 NIV

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

1 Peter 1:3‭-‬5 NIV

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God ; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”

John 14:1‭-‬4 NIV

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Matthew 6:19-20

Revelation 21:

Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia in length, and as wide and high as it is long. The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits thick. The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass. I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Revelation 22:

Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. The angel said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God who inspires the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place.” “Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.” I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had been showing them to me. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your fellow prophets and with all who keep the words of this scroll. Worship God!” Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.” “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life. I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll. He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.

Thankful For Small Blessings

Grateful for a fresh cup of luxury hot chocolate (has to be made with hot milk!) and a freshly baked choc o pain to start the morning today. Along with a local walk in our beautiful surroundings.

A chance to still my mind before the chaos of the day insues.

My day today consists of helping my daughter with her maths work (rearranging formulas!! Fun!!) . Helping my son with English exam prep and assisting my husband with creating video content for his music composition business. Tidying the house and clothes washing.

This will then be followed by business accounts and preparing for a youth leaders meeting later this week.

Finally my day will end with a food shop and then a chance to chill Infront of the TV.

What do your days consist of at the moment? Let me know in the comments. 🙂

I love to hear peoples stories. It’s good to share life together! 🙂

In these times I am learning to be thankful for the small blessings in life.

Like waking up covid free, managing to get out in the fresh air and enjoying the peace of my surroundings even if only local and for a limited time.

Paul talks in the bible about learning to be content in all circumstances:

This verse always presents a challenge to me.

I have the whole being content thing down, on a good day . When everything is going right and I’m surrounded by friends and family .

Like the time we went to Europa Park in Germany. We were going on rollercoasters, looking at row upon row of Christmas lights and walking round the German Christmas markets. Eating chocolate marshmellows on sticks. Followed by ice skating under the stars and drinking mulled wine at the bar. That was a great day!

A view of part of the park from above on the Giant Ferris wheel!
An Arial view of part of the park from the Giant Ferris wheel

Feeling content in this situation is easy for me.

However on days where things are hard, like when you receive an unexpected bill or a pandemic hits and you wonder how it will effect your life and your income. Your mind starts to wonder (or atleast mine does) towards if only I had more money or if only I had …..

I don’t do that as much as I used to now because over the years I have been learning to trust God more and more.

I have seen that he has bought us through situations before and he will do so again.

I now know that he will provide for all our needs. I have seen him do this countless times, both in our lives and the lives of those around us.

All of this leads me to live in the moment more. To worry less and to feel more content and satisfied in life regardless of what’s going on around me.

I don’t think I have fully cracked this yet but I am alot further along the road towards this than I used to be.

How do you feel about this verse?

Whatever you are doing today. I hope you have a good and blessed day. 🙂

May You Find Peace And Strength Today

Spend some time reflecting on these words today and allowing God’s peace to wash over you and refresh you.

Find rest in His presence as you wait on Him.

He is here! He is for you! He is walking with you. Fix your eyes on Him and may He renew your strength as you wait on Him today.

Have a blessed day in His presence!❤️

Be encouraged today. God is with you.

May you find rest and peace and hope in Him today.

This is my prayer for you today …

You are Loved Poem

You are loved by God
You are loved as you are
You are needed
and beautiful – that’s who you are!

Your value is endless
and God sees your heart
He is moulding you, shaping you
To play your part

Some days are hard
and some days feel long
but tomorrow will come
If you keep holding on

God sees your heart
And he sees your pain
Keep going , keep believing
It will not be in vain

He sees how your suffering
And your tears in the night
Nothing that happens
is hidden from his sight

You may not feel worthy
You may feel alone
But even on your darkest day
He’s still on the throne

Nothing you go through
Is ever in vain
Ask him to help you
He’ll carry your pain

It may not be today
Or even tomorrow
but he will make a way
So I encourage you to stay
And pray you have a better day

Dancing on Injustice

I don’t know about you but when I see the vast swathes of people who are suffering injustice and poverty In this world, I feel overwhelmed by the scale of the problems and the curruption in our world.

My heart breaks every time I see a news item about how people are being used, abused and oppressed or hear someone’s life story from a shanty town.

I recently heard the story of a refugee escaping war with just the clothes on their back. They previously had a good job and now they had nothing.

Sometimes the problems just seem so big that you wonder what you can do. It can make you feel helpless and want to switch off from the issues you see around you.

People being exploited for sex or money. People being treated injustly or differently just because of the colour of their skin. People wanting to live a peaceful life with their family but they have no roof over their head.

People who’s voices have been silenced by those in charge of them abusing their power.

People who are raped, imprisoned or murdered purely due to their religion.

People working in sweat shops with low pay and long hours often with a lack of human rights.

People loosing their incomes or a loved one dying, leaving them struggling to pay the bills.

It’s hard to know where to begin but we are called to stand against injustice. To be the voice of the voiceless. To love our neighbour as ourselves and to care for orphans and widows. To take up the cause of the poor.

We have a choice everyday to make about who we want to be and what we want to stand for.

We can’t solve every issue but we can make a difference. It is a lie that we can’t do anything.

There are small ways we can help :

– We can support organisations that we trust that are providing support or fundraise for them.

– We can pray.

– We can fill out petitions and stand up against injustice when we see it.

– We can love our neighbour as ourselves.

– We can serve the homeless and those struggling to make ends meet in our communities.

– We can foster and adopt children and care for widows.

– We can buy products and clothes we know are from reputable sources.

– We can listen to the still small voice of God and ask him who he would have us provide support to today.

– We can love people because Christ has loved us.

– We can raise awareness of people’s needs and educate others about them.

I love looking at charities like who are working across the world to abolish human trafficking. It’s great to read the stories of the people that have been rescued because of their work.

That would not have happened if those people involved hadn’t believed they could do something about it and used their platform to set up this charity.

We can be a force for change in this world.

We the church of God are one body with many parts , all different but all loved equally by God.

We should be known by our love for eachother.

Let’s be that example to one another of a Christian life lived out. We are one body and together we can bring about massive changes in the world.

In the Bible it says:

As Christians we do have a choice about how we live. Let’s choose to be people that aim to see real change in people’s lives and stand up for those whose voice has been taken from them.

Love in Christ ❤️ and God bless 🙂

Guarding our Minds

On my daily walk,  I was thinking about all the things that the world tries to use to grab our attention before we’ve even eaten breakfast!

If we have looked at our phones today, we will have had masses of “suggested posts” and negative images, news items and lots of images of people trying to sell us the latest fashion, cosmetics, fast success or  certain lifestyle’s.

It is even worse for our young people who are having to make literally millions of decisions every day about what they watch and how they spend their time. The temptations and stresses they face are so unbelievable.

If you have a young person or child at home, I encourage you to comfort them today. Remind them they are special and loved and accepted as they are. That they can do great things with their lives and God has great plans for them. Reassure them that we will get through this time!

As Christians we need  to lead the way in not comparing ourselves to others or trying to live by their standards.

We are told to guard our minds!

We need to allow how God feels about us to be the first thing on our minds in the morning.

He loves us , He called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

We are all unique. That’s the way God created us and that’s a good thing. Let’s embrace that.

We need to be challenging the media on the content that is on our screens and trying to find healthy alternatives to the daily rubbish the world wants us to fill our heads with.

I am not saying it is easy but it will make us feel better and healthier over time.

The bible says :

It can be so easy to fall into negative self talk and complaining. Instead of trying to focus on what is good and positive and pure.

Especially during lockdown. When we are limited on what we  can do. We can easily become discouraged.

Sometimes we let our minds wonder and get fixated on the negative  things. Instead of fixed on what is positive and good.

Let’s try to focus on the good stuff and not miss that in the midst of all the hard stuff going on around us.

For example the other day, when I was out walking, it was really cold and wet and it had taken a while for us to leave the house.  I was complaining and getting frustrated about that. Instead of focusing on the fact that we were spending quality time as a family and God had given us a new day to live with new opportunities.

Let’s try not to get caught up in complaining but use the opportunities presented to grow into people who are grateful and fix our minds on things above.

So that over time our perspective shifts and we begin to focus on the good things even in the difficult times.

Let’s challenge ourselves to talk about the good things God is doing around the world, in our lives and in the lives of those around us.

And let’s try to remember however hard it is;  Lockdown is only temporary and we will get through this!

God still has plans for us and :

Try to think of some things to be thankful for today. Try and find the good to be celebrated.

Praying for you all . God bless  🙂🙏❤️

If you have any questions – It is God who is the answer.

Trust your life into His hands today, whether you can see the way ahead or not. God is rejoicing over you today and He will lead you when you trust him 🙂

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.  Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.  They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.  Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.  It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course.  It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.  The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.  The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.  The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The decrees of the Lord are firm, and all of them are righteous.  They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.  By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.  But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.  Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.  May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,  Lord , my Rock and my Redeemer.

Psalms 19:1‭-‬14 NIV

Now let’s consider this Psalm and delight in meditating on the words.

Let’s worship God for who he is and spend time in his presence dwelling on these words .

Then if you want to; pray the prayer that David prays at the end of this Psalm. Which is written below:

As we go about our day let’s reflect on the words below and live them out.

” So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. “

1 Corinthians 10:31 NIV

Praying you have a great day 🙏❤️🙂
